Problem by xtinabobina: are healthcare pros permitted to personal medical marijuana prescriptions for migraines?
If say a nurse has a medical marijuana prescripton in the state of california for migraines, if she is searching for a new job and they need a urine drug check, does having that prescription void the “fail’ on a check? Is a replicate of the urine check sent to the company requesting it? Do you state on a urine exam underneath treatment, do you put marijuana??

If the people administering the urine test aren’t with the Federal government and with the state where medical marijuana is legal, then you would probably put “medical marijuana” underneath medication. You could have to prove it, but if you have your card that shouldn’t be a difficulty.
Even so, that might scare some companies away because of the stoner stereotype of laziness.
I don’t know for positive though, so you really should most likely see if your state regulations say anything about it.

Shortest answer, No. Hospitals, most of all, do not recognize marijuana use for any reason. If you test dirty you will be terminated. No questions asked. If you are a prospective employee, you will not be hired.
Certain fields require employees to be at the top of their game. In the zone, so to speak. And they view any kind of marijuana use, recreational or otherwise, to be a hindrance on performance. It makes no difference if you claim that the use was solely while you were away from work and did not involve any patient care. If you test dirty, you’re done.
That being said, I have worked in a hospital for many years and I use marijuana as a medical patient. I have only been drug tested once. If you take your responsibilities seriously and don’t give anyone reason to suspect you are using drugs, you will not be bothered. Stay clean until the test is over.
prescription for it. If any health care organization knowingly hires a drug user, you put your DEA license at risk.
